I still like pink
So, just after the post about color yesterday, I see a post on GrokDotCom titled "Do Girls Really Prefer Pink?" Good timing. Let’s explore color further.
People do tend to assume that women universally prefer pink. Is this true? Studies tend to support that it is true. However, a post on Mixing Memory, "Do Women Have an Evolved Preference for Pink?", explores the studies claiming this to be true. And asks the question, If it is true, is it gender or cultural?
So, once again, I like pink, I don’t know why, though.

What does color mean?
A recent article in Machine Design, written by Mike Hudspeth, explores the meaning of color in design.
"Have you ever been passed on the highway by one of the ugly pink cars a certain
cosmetics company gives its sales force? I think the drivers go so fast because
they are ashamed to be seen in a pink car. Color makes a big impression and,
believe it or not, can affect a company’s bottom line.
So, how do you pick a good color for a design? For some products, it’s a
no-brainer because there are already established industry standards. Yellow,
for example, is for construction equipment, and red or florescent green is for
fire trucks. Here are a few tips on those and other colors:: "

Useful
Adjustable legs can now be added to almost any work surface.

The device was developed by engineers at
ErgoSwiss,
a company whose products are distributed by American Sales Development, Fairfield, Conn.
These adjustable legs, that support
working surfaces, can make tables and benches more comfortable and safer places
to work, especially for those with disabilities.
Users can manually or automatically raise and
lower surfaces by 19.5 in. using hydraulics, and the legs support up to 1,320
lb.
