Siemens PLM Software is now testing NX for Mac OS X

Mar 4, 2009   //   by Stephen Samuel   //   CAD, NX, Software  //  No Comments

From the PLM World eNewsletter:

Siemens PLM Software is pleased to announce that customer tests are
about to begin for NX 6 on Mac OS X.  For the first time, Mac users
will be able to take advantage of a full-featured CAD solution.   The
Mac has long set the standard for design and innovation in the personal
computer market, making it a perfect fit for NX and Teamcenter.  NX for
Mac OS X will be demonstrated at PLM World in June, and it is scheduled
to be released soon after that.

NX 6, which is already available for Windows and Linux, is a solution
that transforms the entire product development process to reduce waste
and design in quality.  A key innovation in NX 6 is Design Freedom
powered by Synchronous Technology, which combines the best of
history-based and history-free modeling to allow even inexperienced
users to modify 3D models directly without needing to know how the
models were created.  NX 6 also features a state of the art, fully
customizable user interface and a wide selection of knowledge-based
design tools that allow users to capture, manage, share and apply
company knowledge.
NX for the Mac will run on any current 64-bit Intel-based Mac with Mac
OS X 10.5.5 or later and it supports all available graphic subsets.  It
will include CAD, CAM, assemblies, and drafting.  Siemens PLM already
has many customers signed up to test NX for Mac OS X.  Interested NX
customers can contact Tom Spangler at tom.spangler@siemens.com.
