NX Expressions for Smarties

Covers all current versions in 38 exercises

NX Expressions for Smarties is the one stop course on the expressions language in NX that has been written for engineers by engineers who love this stuff. We did it knowing that you’re probably very busy. That said, we’ve made this course very hands-on and streamlined. Most of this course is made up of exercises. You will learn a ton by performing them. The exercises get successively more difficult as the chapters progress, so we expect that if you already know a bit about expressions you can skip the beginning chapters and start somewhere in the middle.

Due to the raw power of expressions in NX this course is quite extensive. Most folks who use NX know at least a little about expressions but when you get into the detail you come to realize that the subject is vast. The expressions capability in NX is arguably the best, most powerful and easiest to use capability of its kind when compared to all the other major CAD programs. Most of the other CAD programs with a similar ability require you to order the expressions, “relations” just right, and you cannot make expressions on the fly. Also on other programs the available functions are limited and cumbersome. This course is an attempt to capture it all and provide real world examples from industry.

We have greatly expanded the content, detail, and exercises included in this edition.Topics include: Synchronous and Master Modeling; Fundamental and Intermediate Curves; Editing Entities; Design, Reference, Surface and Detail Features; Sheet Metal Features; True Studio Task; and Injection-Molded Parts and Castings. Using NX8 is like playing a piano. In the same way that chords are as important as individual notes, NX commands are far more powerful when used in concert with others. Our book makes an effort to show not only the details of the most important commands, but the powerful combinations that we have used to bring about excellent designs. This manual teaches you the modeling, assemblies, and drafting functionality including all the latest and greatest tools found only in NX8.

Beginning to Advanced SolidWorks 2011 Modeling, Drafting and Assemblies from Machined parts to Blobjects has been written by engineers for engineers. Based on many years of teaching folks all over the globe how to make more effective use of their CAD tools, we have placed the overwhelming emphasis in this book on excercises. This book teaches users how to be fluent with the tool.

In the same way a good saxophone player must learn by playing a variety of songs in various genres, the exercises in this SolidWorks book expose learners to various combinations of commands that form powerful techniques.

Our aim in writing this book is to use every trick we have learned throughout the years to help our readers learn as much as they can in the shortest amount of time.

Teamcenter Engineering and Product Lifecycle Management Basics offers clear and careful steps to assist engineers in learning the use of Teamcenter Engineering.

Through this learning manual, one will gain a deep understanding of PLM basics and how PLM is used. This book contains numerous practical examples accumulated throughout our years of training and everyday use. The reader will be guided through all of the concepts, techniques, and commands that are necessary to gain a working knowledge of Teamcenter Engineering. Included is the background information needed to fully understand the underlying concepts.

Topics include: What is PLM and how does it work? How does Teamcenter Engineering fit with other systems? Using Teamcenter Engineering. Basic, intermediate and advanced skills. Implementation of Teamcenter. How to make Teamcenter Engineering work best.

Our Teamcenter book is geared toward a broad audience, including engineers who will actually create data and those who only need to review data, such as management, manufacturing, and marketing teams. Additionally, decision makers who may never touch the data, but need to gain an understanding of PLM, will also benefit.
