The NX staged model technique is an amazing new tool that allows the representation of models in their corresponding phases of manufacturing. For components that are created from casting with many second Opps of models that are created by machining from a larger billet, the staged model technique is the way to go. Behind the scenes of staged models is the wave technique. The wave techniques are used to ensure that when the original model is updated all the stages update sequentially. The staged model concept is another tool in the numerous sets of tools that allow Model-Based Design.
In NX, there is a new and very powerful technique that allows you to represent various manufacturing stages of a finished part. It essentially allows you to work backwards from a model that you have defined to all the various stages. Staged modeling is a powerful addition to the set of techniques that allow one to do Model Based Design.
